Antique Lighting
In the 1930's Edward Carwardine designed the first Anglepoise desk lamp. Since then we have worked on many variations on this fantastic
and versatile design which now even extend to a Giant floor lamp three
times the scale of the original design! The original 1227 table lamp
design means Anglepoise are lucky enough to have one of the landmark
designs in British antique lamps in our portfolio and
as a foundation for our catalogue. This is not something we take for
granted at Anglepoise. So we have developed a dedicated range of antique
table lamps available in a range of colours to commemorate
this groundbreaking design, which is only a subtle redesign of the original.
Investing in one of these products is a good decision if you are looking
to create a cosier feel to your study or work area. After all, having
'antique lighting' in your home or office creates an
ambience not given by our other designs and can take the edge off potentially
harsh lighting within the space.
We also have introduced our Type 1227 range of antique lighting,
which once again is a redesign of our original 1930's model. This particular
antique table lamp comes with a square base and external
lamp holder. These antique lamps come in black and
match our Type 1227 floor standing lamps
exactly to give you the benefit
of a consistent look throughout any space no matter what the size. To
combine classical design with modern, energy efficient technology, low-energy
light bulbs can be fitted to these lamps, saving you money on your energy
bills and reducing your carbon footprint.
We also have our Type 3 range, which once again is a version of our
original antique table lamps. This range is handmade
in Waterlooville and comes in a variety of colour combinations. All
of our antique lamps offer consumers the chance to
