The Anglepoise products are all about the movement of a light source to a useful position to perform a certain task, like writing, reading and more commonly now aiding the use of a computer. However when we spoke to many of our users it was discovered that many did not move their products, but preferred to leave them in one position. Most commonly this angle was fifty degrees.
"The idea then came to freeze the original Anglepoise lamp at fifty degrees, cast it like an old archaeological relic, strip it of production complexity and shape it into something new which still retained a functionality and personality"
The lamp is fixed in one position with the back of the lamp is also exposed, which floods the wall behind it with white light and projects the colour of the lamp forwards through the product. The colours are orange, red or frosted clear with white lamp fittings and cable.
