And we’ve got some delightful designs to choose from, all of which preserve the original 1930s ‘human arm’ infrastructure devised by designer George Carwardine. With the creative genius of top industrial designer Kenneth Grange, we’ve successfully blended the retro-chic appearance of the prototypical Carwardine design and added some subtle contemporary twists. The gleaming chrome-plated Type 3 model, with its brass arms and gently curved double-skinned shade looks stylishly retro and modishly contemporary at the same time – and the shade remains cool to the touch at all times. Or there’s our eye-catching Anglepoise Giant – a full three times bigger than the original Carwardine lamp, these studio lamps, despite being modelled on the original 1930s design, are fun, funky and futuristic.
