It is often said that all good things come to an end, well in this case that just isn't true, it actually gets better for those who are prepared to wait.
“To celebrate the 2011 London Design Festival, the Design Museum and Anglepoise are giving away 50 Anglepoise lamps on Sunday 25 September. The first 50 people to buy a ticket to the Design Museum’s current exhibitions: Kenneth Grange – Making Britain Modern, This is Design and Designers in Residence, on Sunday 25 September will get a free Anglepoise Lamp Type 1228 special edition. The Anglepoise Lamp Type1228 was designed by Kenneth Grange in 2004 and a special edition was issued in 2011 in Daffodil Yellow to celebrate his exhibition. Entry to the Design Museum’s three current exhibitions is £10 plus a £1 voluntary donation.
The Anglepoises formed a display in the Design Museum Tank to celebrate the museum’s Kenneth Grange exhibition and are being given away as ex- display. There are 50 Anglepoises available that retail for £185.
For over 70 years, Anglepoise has created table lamps and table lights that are now British design classics. Launched in 2004 the Anglepoise Type1228 designed by Kenneth Grange is now available with a Daffodil Yellow lampshade which is exclusive to the Design Museum Shop for the duration of the exhibition Kenneth Grange: Making Britain Modern.
There is one lamp per person, terms and conditions will be supplied with lamp.”
