Multidisciplinary design team Ferrious, opened the doors of their chic railway arch showroom in central Manchester for a lively Christmas event last week. The Anglepoise® + Paul Smith collection took pride of place, showcased in the windows and instore alongside some suitably impressive models of existing or concept buildings created by the thriving local architecture and design community. 3D Design students from Manchester School of Art, who recently worked on a people centred design brief also attended in full force to see the results of their group work highlighted at the Ferrious event.
The building models were judged on the night and five lucky winners went home with prizes donated by Anglepoise. Special mention to first place winner Winter + Kurth for their terrific model of the Beetham Tower made out of a block of solid aluminium, and for Carma Masson of NoChinz in 2nd place for her paper model of the Battersea Power Station. Addition prizes went to Manchester School of Art students of Architecture Callum Richardson and Lobna Elagouz, and to the Hawkins\Brown Architects. Congratulations and a very merry Christmas to one and all.
