The Original 315 Desk Lamp \u2013 Navigation Edition is a rediscovery from our archive. First conceived in the 1940s as a specialist adaptation of the iconic Original 1227 design<\/a>, it was developed for a very specific purpose: illuminating navigators’ chart tables aboard long-range maritime patrol aircraft.\"originalNamed after its project name and designed as a true working tool, the 315 delivered focused, directional light exactly where it was needed, helping crews navigate through darkness and uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Now, more than eighty years later, this forgotten chapter of Anglepoise history returns.<\/p>\n

Faithfully re-engineered for contemporary life, the Original 315 Desk Lamp \u2013 Navigation Edition retains the purposeful character of the original project while being adapted for today’s desks, studios and creative spaces. Its distinctive form pairs a polished aluminium shade with matte black components, creating a quieter, more understated presence than its celebrated predecessor.\"originalUnlike any other lamp in the Anglepoise collection, the Original 315 uses a modern GU10 spotlight source to deliver a brighter, more concentrated beam.
