Located in Islington, North London The Owl is much more than place to come to for an excellent haircut. It’s somewhere to sit, relax, sip a fine drink, listen to some good tunes and generally feel right at home – essentially the antidote to the kind of pretentious hairdressing that makes us all feel a little bit uncomfortable.
The stripped back, almost industrial working environment has tiny elements of the grand stylistic traditions of the iconic gent’s barbershop combined with uncluttered minimalism, and an obsession for getting the details right. This chimes perfectly with their philosophy towards cutting hair.
Since the original opening in 2015 the shop interior has evolved. A new cement wall now complements the polished concrete floor and extra work stations have been added. Here, Japanese chairs, chosen for their practicality and comfort, are illuminated by iconic Original 1227™ Wall Mounted Lamps and Maxi Pendants, creating a warm, laid back atmosphere – as well as casting the kind of light that every good barber needs.
