Product Overview
First introduced in 1935, the Original 1227 transformed task lighting through George Carwardine’s revolutionary constant spring technology. Its perfectly balanced mechanism allows the lamp to move freely, hold its position with precision and direct light exactly where it’s needed, creating a pool of light that illuminates what’s important to you.
The Opal + Blue Black edition draws inspiration from the earliest Anglepoise lamps, when bold primary colours featured across shades and bases. A gloss blue finish brings warmth and character, while satin black arms, black nickel-plated springs and fittings, and a black braided cable introduce a crisp, contemporary contrast that celebrates the lamp’s engineering as much as its form.
Whether placed beside a favourite chair, on a home office desk or within a creative studio, the Original 1227 complements its surroundings while providing purposeful, adjustable light for reading, making and focused work. More than a design icon, it’s a dependable everyday companion, thoughtfully engineered to last and Guaranteed for Life.
