Ottolenghi’s Test Kitchen
Multidisciplinary design studio, Studio Mama have completed a bold renovation of chef Yotam Ottolenghi’s test kitchen in London. Once a disused railway arch, designers Nina Tolstrup and Jack Mama really made their mark. They transformed the industrial unit into a contemporary kitchen by adding splashes of bright colour, created zones using shapes and made use of natural materials such as ply.
The space was designed to fulfill three main functions: the test kitchen itself, a library/ studio section and lastly, to be able to transform into an event space. Despite large windows and ample light, Studio Mama chose Anglepoise Type 80 W3 wall lights to illuminate the counter. With a longer reach than the W1 and W2 design, these versatile wall lights can be maneuvered to suit focused work or poised up for soft mood lighting.
