Colour changes the way a lamp sits in a room. Some finishes create contrast, while others recede into the background, which is what the newest addition to the Type 80 collection does.
Introducing Pale Putty, a warm and neutral colourway that brings a more domestic feel to one of Anglepoise’s most graphic and contemporary lamp families.
While the colour introduces a softer look and feel, the design remains unmistakably Type 80. The collection’s clean lines, precision-engineered details and distinctive halo light-escape continue to define every piece, demonstrating Sir Kenneth Grange’s enduring belief that good design should be both functional and visually engaging.
Softer and warmer than the existing Matte Black and Grey Mist finishes, the new colourway has a gentler presence that feels particularly at home in bedrooms, living spaces and reading corners. It offers a refined neutrality that complements a wide variety of interiors while retaining the strong visual identity that defines the Type 80 collection.
The introduction of Pale Putty coincides with the launch of the new Type 80 T1 Table Lamp, where the finish is available with either a classic metal shade or an opal glass shade. While the metal shade provides focused, practical illumination, the opal glass version diffuses light more softly, creating a warm ambient glow that is particularly suited to bedside use and relaxed living spaces.
The new finish extends across the Type 80 family, including the Type 80 Pendant and Type 80 W2 Wall Light, allowing a consistent palette to be carried throughout a room.
Visitors to our exhibition at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen will be among the first to experience the new Pale Putty finish across the Type 80 range. We look forward to welcoming you.
