9HOTEL COLLECTION recently opened their third lifestyle hotel, ideally located in the museum district of Brussels. Working within a former hotel site, architects Jordi Veciana and Jordi Castel were intent on maintaining the original structural elements in their simplest, purest form, incorporating exposed concrete beams, brick walls, slabs and pillars into the interior design to reveal the building’s rich history. Interior designer, Skye Maunsell worked alongside the architects on the hotel’s décor and furnishings.
Common areas underwent extensive work to improve the natural flow of their spaces and are complimented by the 47 spacious loft-style guest rooms. Anglepoise® Type75™ Mini table, floor and wall lamp were introduced into both the reception area and into bedrooms, their clean, modernist lines ideally suited to the ultimate simplicity of the hotel interiors. Clever touches include a breakfast space that transforms into a co-working space, a 5 metre long sofa, where guests can enjoy the lobby’s lounge music in an acoustic sound bubble, and decorative found objects, many from India, that give unique character to the interior spaces.
