Alma has brought the former premises of Beckman’s College of Design to life in the heart of Stockholm. The club aims to inspire creatives and entrepreneurs active within design, architecture, film, fashion, advertising, music, art, media and other creative industries, all under the motto “hospitality for ideas”. In addition to its signature restaurant located in a sun-filled atrium, Alma also provides meeting rooms, a fully equipped recording studio, a lounge and generous space for working and socializing. Members also enjoy an ambitious social calendar with events, panels, workshops and exhibitions. On the first floor, there is a curated shop, selling carefully selected pieces of design, furniture, fashion and accessories including PP Mobler, De La Espada, Austere, KBH, Wästberg and Anglepoise.

Chosen to be the lamp used around the house, Alma’s creative director Fredrik Carlström decided on the Type 75â„¢ series to go with the work tables designed for Alma and produced in massive ash. Type 75â„¢ Anglepoise + Margaret Howell lamps also feature in the three phone booths. “We looked around for the perfect task lamp, and think we found it in the Type 75â„¢, combining function, beauty and durability. I am particularly fond of the colours by Margaret Howell, who I am a big fan of.”
