This June, we’re making our debut at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen with an installation that celebrates the values that have shaped Anglepoise for more than 90 years: heritage, continuity and stewardship.
As part of the exhibition, we’ll be previewing the Original 315 Desk Lamp – Navigation Edition. Inspired by a remarkable chapter in our history, the original lamp was developed for use in aircraft, illuminating navigators’ chart tables during flight. Re-engineered for contemporary life, this new edition brings that same purposeful design to the desk, home and studio.
At Galerie Maria Friis, we’ll also be sharing a very special lamp with an extraordinary story. More than 70 years old, it has already lived several lives. Originally passed from father to son, it has recently been restored once again, continuing a journey of care and maintenance that spans generations. This lamp is not for sale. Instead, we’re inviting visitors to consider a simple question: why should you be entrusted with its next chapter? We’re looking not for an owner, but for its next custodian.
Alongside these stories from our past, we’ll be introducing new additions to the current Anglepoise collection. Designed by Sir Kenneth Grange, the new Type 80 T1 Table Lamp is a pared-back and simplified interpretation of the Type 80 family. Available with either the classic metal shade or a softly diffused opal glass shade, it offers a warmer, more atmospheric light. The launch also introduces a new colour to the range: Pale Putty, a warm chestnut brown, joining Matte Black and Grey Mist.
In another nod to our heritage, we’re unveiling a new colourway for the Original 1227 Desk Lamp. Featuring a blue shade and base paired with matte black components and arm set, the design echoes some of the earliest Anglepoise lamps produced in the 1930s, bringing a piece of our history into the present day.
We look forward to sharing these stories, products and ideas with visitors in Copenhagen, and continuing the conversation around enduring design, repair and responsible ownership.
