Anglepoise has joined forces with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity to support the charity’s fundraising efforts and their vital work to provide specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children and young people. The partnership means that the company will donate 15% of the net sale price of its 90 Mini Mini and Original 1227 Giant lamps to the charity when bought from its UK and EU webstores.
“We have heard the Roald Dahl Nurses described as both ‘a beacon of light’ and ‘the light in the dark’, which just goes to show the power of the specialist care that they provide to families in need. We couldn’t think of a better organisation to support.” John Purnell, Joint Managing Director.
“The Anglepoise brand lives to Abandon Darkness and we mean this in its most literal sense – we are a lighting business after all – but also as a statement of our intent. We believe light can be found anywhere and this belief is exemplified by the work that the Roald Dahl children’s nurses do, day in, day out and as a team we are delighted to be supporting them.” Simon Terry, owner and Joint Managing Director.
Set up in memory of the beloved children’s author, who gave his time and money to help children and families who were affected by serious illness, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity has been helping to make life more marvellous for seriously ill children for 30 years.
The charity has a vision that every seriously ill child should have a Roald Dahl Specialist Nurse. These incredible nurses support over 24,000 children and young people, but the charity knows that there are over 100,000 of these children living with complex, lifelong illnesses – there is so much still to do.
“We are so excited to be partnering with Anglepoise because partnerships like this help us to grow our support for seriously ill children and young people. These nurses really are ‘a beacon of light in the families’ darkest times’, and that is the message that we’d like people to take away when they buy one of the promotional lamps. Roald Dahl Nurses are vital in supporting the emotional, medical and care needs of these children, and creating more nursing posts is so important. A massive thank you to everyone at Anglepoise and all of their customers.” Louise Griew, Chief Executive of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
