Rapha – widely regarded as the world’s finest cycling clothing and accessories brand – commissioned Jump Studios to create an inspirational 1600m² showroom and workspace within a refurbished two-storey former warehouse that would not only celebrate the culture of cycling, but also boost productivity and efficiency.

Working within a restricted budget, Jump Studios created a bespoke, flexible, multi-functional system of cages that would delineate spaces into open plan and semi-enclosed zones and provide storage and display opportunities. Fabricated from black-sprayed steel mesh and plywood, the cages allude to the engineered yet hand-made quality of bespoke cycles, also providing a neutral framework for employees to surround themselves with products and express themselves with inspirational material. A desk system using Key Clamp scaffolding tubes and plywood tops in a range of heights provides flexible workspace, complimented by a series of Anglepoise^® Type75™ desk lamps.

From an entrance ramp allowing employees and visitors to ride straight into the building to provision for cycle racks and bike fix, laundry and showers, cycling as a lifestyle is placed at the heart of a design that acts as a powerful magnet for employees, customers and suppliers alike.
